Glasgow concert 2018

See the programme. Works extended from Bach, via Le Jeune, Lully, Warlock and Vaughan Williams to modern works by Glen Shannon and Dietrich Schnabel, whose "Divertimento" was commissoned by the orchestra in memory of our late Founding Musical Director, Eileen Silcocks.

Monthly rehearsals are on Sunday afternoons in Stirling.

The orchestra has about 60 members, playing all sizes of recorder from sopranino to sub‑contrabass, making a full orchestral sound. Repertoire ranges from ancient to modern, including original compositions and arrangements of pieces written for other combinations. Rehearsals are once per month plus occasional residential weekends. Public concerts are performed at least annually. There is a special relationship with the Dortmund Recorder Consort involving joint residential weekends and joint concerts in both countries.

See the rehearsals page for dates of rehearsals and residential weekends.
